green tea tom yum instant noodles

I bought these as they were 25p and the package made them look to be an unearthly shade of grass green. Well, I was sold.

Inside the pack this is what you get. They are nowhere near as green as I was expecting. Boo! Reading the ingredients, I noticed that the green colour is mostly due to spinach, they contain less than 1% green tea, but at that price, what do you expect. The flavour sachet is mostly dried powdered vegetables such as leeks, plus chilli.

They are even less green when cooked but they taste pretty decent, far better than other noodles I've had in the same price bracket. You can certainly taste the spinach.
Boring. They were ok, but nothing special. I'd have them again though, as they are cheap and relatively tasty. I do have some more unusual kinds of instant noodles to review though so watch this space.
Verdict?
6/10

I've had this and other than being pretty spicy, it actually didn't taste half as bad as it looks. Anyway I love the idea behind your blog! There certainly is some very weird food products out there!
